Nice setup and smokin' sexy times. That's pretty much everything I look for in a shifter book. Dec 14, L M rated it liked it. The best part was the epilogue. Found Zarek cheesy and too wrapped up in sex. Liked Keren a lot and found her very entertaining. The fact she slugged Zarek more than once and the fact she was a slayer meant she could look after herself. Read previously but review is missing.

Mandy by Claudy Conn

Keren is more than a normal human, she's a slayer from a family reknowned for not caring whether the supernatural is white, black or grey. But Keren's different, she doesn't see things quite the same way, and now she has to come to terms with something new, something she can't quite explain Tipping the Scales, and the previous novella in the series Romancing the Recluse by Michelle M Pillow , is a quick streamy read which still managed to create an intrigueing and different mythology than any I've come across before.

Dragon shifters fitting into the human world is a bit trickier than wolves or big cats after all! I did think that Tipping the Scales explored the world surrounding the characters a bit more than Romancing the Recluse did, though I think some of that could have been to do with it being the second book in the series so having more of a base to work on.

Though the book sin this series are written by two different authors, it is clear that there was good communication in the writing process, and though I personally could tell that they were written by different authors other than knowing anyway!

Teri Jhuki Nazar - Murder 3 - Randeep - Pritam

I do think that part of why I could read the difference easily was because I've read a fair few books by both the authors after all! I liked that Keren could hold her own, not necessarily against Zarek, but rather against the other things happening around her. I also liked the fact that Zarek very quickly realised that and instead of trying to alpha male protect her, he worked with her. It made for a good partnership and good foundatin for their relationship.

I enjoyed Tipping the Scales, it was a good read, especially if you're looking for something quick. Jan 04, Robin rated it it was amazing. I had not yet read book one and had no trouble reading this book as a stand alone, and it was enjoyable enough that I am now planning to read the first book. This is an engaging fun paranormal romance.

I found myself lost in the intriguing story and characters and ended up finishing the book in one sitting.

Zarek - hunky alpha who knows it and isn't afraid to let the females know Tipping the Scales is the second book in the Stop Dragon My Heart Around Series book one written by Michelle Pillow. Zarek - hunky alpha who knows it and isn't afraid to let the females know it also. A confirmed playboy he is on a quest to find the "one" woman he must mate before he turns , or he loses his virility. The arrogant and cocky dragon shifter could have been obnoxious but the author has added just the right amount of quirky, adorable, humor to this hero to make him irresistible.

Besides, he has a secret weapon, special endorphins that act as an aphrodisiac which he releases when kissing a women. Keren- a sassy, fiesty, secret demon slayer by night, worker by day. Keren is a tough, independent heroine, very capable of taking care of herself. She is less than impressed with Zarek, whom she meets in a bar and insists that she should be finding him irresistable. Zarek is dumbfounded when he finds his "one" Keren in a club, and she declares that his kisses taste worse than awful.

This is only one of the many very funny scenes and situations in the story.

  • Welcome to Mandy's Madhouse - EMBRACE THE NIGHT.
  • Under an English Moon (Moonlight Wishes in Time series Book 2);
  • Führt Mediengewalt zu Alltagsgewalt? Die Faszination und die Auswirkungen von Gewalt im Film. (German Edition).
  • Cat Face Cross Stitch Pattern.

How ironic that the great dragon shifter ends up being the one rescued by this female after they are attacked by a demon. The witty banter between the two is hilarious, their growing chemistry steamy and hot, and when Zarek finds out she is a demon slayer the adventure really begins. How can his true mate be from the family that has been hunting his kind down for centuries? Mandy Roth is a very talented writer of many paranormal stories and characters.

I highly recommend reading this short story. With just the right mixture of excitement and action, comedy, and five star hot and sexy romance, great HEA and epilogue you will finish with a big smile on your face. Jan 02, Mary Lou Hoffman rated it it was amazing Shelves: paranormal , shifter , series , romance , short-story. There is also a companion story, Romancing the Recluse by Michelle M.

Zarek is nearing his th birthday which is the deadline date to avoid a species curse. If he does not find and claim his true mate by then, he will become sterile, possibly impotent. Keren comes from a long line of demon hunters… demons include all shifters in her family history. Can a dragon and a slayer be fated mates? The characters are strong and well-developed.

The story is raw, base, erotic, and still romantic. I also need to point out that the setting was in Pittsburgh, PA — the closest city to where I grew up. Starting there was sure to have me excited for a good story and Ms.

Roth never disappoints. I am looking forward to reading more and more from Mandy M. Roth and her many nome de plumes. Jun 28, Dorothy rated it it was amazing. This was a great read.
